Cape Town Staff Now Overwhelmed With Thousands Of Daily Requests From South African Citizens To Have Their ‘Health Passport Worldwide’ Apps Updated. Health Passport Worldwide Digital System Supports South Africans To Travel Again.

Cape Town – Aug 23rd, 2021 – Health Passport South Africa today confirm that their customer service team in Cape Town is overwhelmed by thousands of daily requests from the public to have their ‘Health Passport Worldwide’ apps updated with a secure digital vaccination certificate.

Health Passport Worldwide is mobile system used by the healthcare sector to administer COVID-19 tests and vaccinations. The system is highly secure and provides great efficiencies to healthcare providers across South Africa. The majority of COVID labs and test centres nationally are already using the tech to securely deliver COVID test results to patients. After vaccination, the system automatically creates an encrypted digital certificate unique to each person.

In the current absence of a digital solution from National Government, Health Passport South Africa is providing this service to the public for those who have already been fully vaccinated.

“It is incredible to see the positive response from the South African public, everyone deserves the opportunity to safely get on with their life,” said Liam McCreedy, General Manager at Health Passport South Africa.

“It is such a privilege to provide this much needed digital solution to the people of South Africa. Every day we help thousands of people, who can now safely return to international travel or look forward to getting back to events, sports and more.”

“However, we have a major challenge because demand from the public has sky-rocketed and has now become overwhelming. Our customer service team is currently working 24 hours per day in an effort to keep up with requests from the public.”

McCreedy continued: “This is just not sustainable and is a only temporary fix. We urgently need the Government to adopt the digital system today and provide this solution to the public. All the pieces are already in place, and everything can be integrated for the public without hesitation. The Health Passport system is already fully tested to the extreme in South Africa… the major COVID labs are already using the technology and the medical aid insurers want to deploy at their vaccination centres immediately.”

“We now just need the green light so that South Africa can get back to business.”

As international travel and tourism has dropped by almost 90% in South Africa, the Health Passport Worldwide solution provides hope that a better year is coming ahead. The technology is being used to safely reopen upcoming conferences, such as the African Energy Week in Cape Town this November, which will be attended by multiple government delegates and organisation from across Africa. This the largest conference to take place in South Africa since the beginning of the pandemic:

Upcoming meetings are set with the African Union to review a common certification system for the African continent.
